Breaking the fundamental rules of what is expected from a painting. Make your own Magritte!

  • 220 Swiss francs

Service Description

Join us at this session covering a brief introduction into Surrealism and then focusing specifically on René Magritte. We will discuss his work and visual proposal, and use this as inspiration to experiment ourselves in a creative session using collage and/or mixed media adding acrylic painting. René Magritte (1898-1967) defied the most fundamental parameters of classical painting, as did most surrealists. But he has a particular way of treating his subject(s). Things are not the things we think we are seeing on the canvas. Why should they? Logical thinking should be abandoned and the mind of the modern artist should dare to depart from old frameworks. Why shall our creativity be bonded to anything? What if I decide what a thing is regardless of what the mind of the majority think? Painting should become the most liberated expression of human existence. Dare to fly. Dare to imagine. Come and uncover the parallel universe of René Magritte and let your own creativity fly. LANGUAGE: English, German, Spanish, French or Italian AUDIENCE: Designed for adults, although older teens are also welcome (above 15 years old). Note: no painting skills required. DURATION: 4 hours DRESS: Comfortable clothes that can get dirty. Aprons available. PRICE INCLUDES all materials, and a small snack and something to drink (non-alcoholic). Payment can be done online or in person with cash, Credit Card or TWINT.
